I have lived in or around Norfolk for most of my life, my parents having brought me and all the rest of their effects to Mattishall when I was a teenager, and I very swiftly learnt the importance of the great commitment to “du different”, which also happens to be one of the virtues I admire most about the Liberal Democrats.
I’ve been a teacher, here and abroad, for most of my adult life, and have just completed a PhD, which amongst other things I am now using as a volunteer teaching refugees to speak English, and helping young people in a primary school to crack the mysteries of literacy.
I now live in North Norfolk and am keenly aware of the need to preserve the life enhancing and planet-saving environment which we all enjoy without denying its benefits to those who, Norfolk born and bred, are finding it difficult to stay in the county that they love and which needs them to survive.
