North Walsham Market Cross by-election 12th September

Mal Gray writes,

North Walsham is my home and has been for the past 18 years.

It isn’t perfect but there’s nowhere else I’d sooner have raised my children. What I love most about North Walsham is the strong sense of community spirit. It’s a value I can see in my children, and I’m convinced it’s because they grew up here.

Since moving here is 2006 I’ve tried to get involved in local projects and help shape North Walsham’s future. That’s why I am putting myself forward to become a district councillor in the upcoming by-election.

I’m a great believer in rolling up your sleeves and mucking in. That’s why I joined the town council in 2019. It’s why I’ve dedicated the last several years of my life to the Phoenix Group, to bring much-needed local services to the town.

That doesn’t mean that we cannot make the town even better.

There is still to much speeding in both residential areas and on town centre roads such as Kings Arms Street. As your councillor I will work with the police to tackle this problem

Our public spaces have been improved considerably in recent years and particular thanks must go to North Walsham in Bloom for maintaining the many new planers and beds. But, there are still neglected areas of public land and I will make it a priority to see that these are enhanced and improved.

Finally I will continue to fight hard to bring much-needed services to our community. I have first-hand experience of working to bring things like mental health services to North Walsham and I’ll use that experience – and the connections I’ve built –to provide local residents with the things they need.

Please give me your support at this important by-election. Thank you.
