Saul: a true community Champion in your corner

Saul has a proven record of delivering for our area since being elected in 2018. He is a respected School Governor at Worstead Primary School for 15 years and long-term local resident, committed to playing an active role in our community.

Saul is married with three children and has lived in Meeting Hill, Worstead since 2006. All three children have been pupils at Worstead C of E Primary School and are now attending College and University.

He is a trained and experienced teacher in secondary History and RE and was Head of Education at Norwich Cathedral 1999-2008. He is now a freelance heritage and community learning, interpretation and funding specialist.

Saul has been a Governor at Worstead C of E Primary School since 2008, and Chair of Governors for five years. He enjoys his long standing association with the school and is  also a regular volunteer at the annual Worstead Festival.

He has been proud to represent the Worstead Ward as its District Councillor since February 2018 and as its County Councillor since May 2021.

Saul currently Chairs NNDC’s ‘Sustainable Communities Fund Grants Panel.’ This panel provides funding to community-based projects across North Norfolk  helping to make our communities healthier, happier and more sustainable places to live and work.

Saul has excellent links and experience working with communities within North Norfolk and is a passionate believer in local community organisation and strength.

Saul’s priorities:

  • Make our roads safer for all
  • Build more affordable homes
  • Tackling the climate crisis

Saul will continue to lobby for safer roads, including 20mph speed limits in our villages and outside schools.

Saul will support the council’s work to achieve net carbon zero in North Norfolk by 2030.

Saul will fight to ensure more truly affordable homes are built, so people aren’t priced out of their community.
