Help get Nicky Page elected as District Councillor for the Liberal Democrats in Trunch
Nicky: a true community Champion in your corner
Nicky was born and raised in Gimmingham and has lived in Knapton since 2015.
After various jobs, and as a mature student, Nicky trained to become a social worker. After qualification she worked with children and families in both Norfolk and Suffolk, experiencing at first hand the difficulties facing many individuals and communities.
In 2022 Nicky was elected onto the Knapton Parish Council from where she has fought to increase safety at bus stops, improve road safely at junctions and address possible traffic calming measures. She has also succeeded in getting a grant from The Lottery Fund for the parish council to host a village event for the King’s Coronation.
Nicky is passionate about keeping a local community which supports young and old alike. Amongst other things, she wants to see:
- Our children to be able to afford to remain living in the community they have grown up in if they wish to do so, in affordable housing.
- Those from rural areas to have the same opportunities as those from urban areas, with good access and links to public transport.
- Localised support services for Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services, Community Support Groups, and support for those that are experiencing or have experienced Domestic Abuse, or any other type of Abuse
- Easy access to outside recreation, such as playgrounds, outdoor gyms, skate parks, team sports and activities.
- Safer roads not only for motor vehicles but also for cyclists and pedestrians.
